Rosemarie Tamunday – Casanova is a foreign educated nurse who migrated to the US in 1985.
The decision to come to the U.S. came after working in a Swedish Pharmaceutical Company for five years. Her nursing colleagues started to leave for the U.S in search of a better future and to improve the economic situation of their families.
The journey started with choosing an agency that could help with sponsorship but unfortunately, she became a victim of an unscrupulous agent from Texas who in turn caused her deportation back to the Philippines. After a series of court proceedings, the immigration allowed Rose and her friend to return to the U.S. without prejudiced.
Rosemarie started her U.S. nursing in a long-term care facility and after her contract, she moved to New York and then New Jersey working in critical care units. She is a certified critical care nurse (CCRN) who worked in big medical teaching hospitals and some smaller hospitals, working full-time, part-time (PRN) and as an agency nurse. Her vast experience in different healthcare settings gave her a full perspective of the US Health Care delivery system and the way foreign-educated nurses work around the continuum.
She studied for her master’s in health administration while she was building a business in Healthcare Staffing and International Recruitment in 2000. As a co-owner, they built highly successful staffing and recruitment business. The business helped many hospitals ease the burden of staffing shortages through temporary staffing. The company was able to place many nurses through green card sponsorship.
The company was dissolved, and Rosemarie relocated to Sarasota, Florida where she started RIGHT ACCORD Private Duty Home Health Care and RIGHT ACCORD Health Staffing and Placement Services. RIGHT ACCORD home care agency has three locations. It is very successful and celebrating its 15th year of serving the seniors in the community by allowing them to remain in their own homes if they can through the help of caring caregivers. The company is now franchised and ready to help other aspiring entrepreneurs to start their own agencies.
Once again, Rosemarie saw the tremendous need for nurses to the short staff health care organizations and the reason she started RIGHT ACCORD Health Staffing and Placement Services.
The company is built upon the knowledge and expertise of Rosemarie and her team of foreign nurses who have been there and are willing to share their knowledge and expertise as well as support fellow foreign nurses.
It also provides temporary staffing to HCO with supplemental nurses who are experienced and want flexibility and freedom to control their own schedule and places to work.
